Red Velvet Cupcakes with Butter-cream Frosting for Valentine's Day (with video)

Each moment worth living is worth loving. So, celebrate it whenever you wish or whenever you can. These cute little cupcakes can be the perfect accompaniment for such celebration as they strike every note of  love. The list is as follows... red, chocolate, sweet, cute, and most importantly they are made by you with love for your loved ones. The effort you put in makes the special person feel even more special.
Moreover, I would just like to mention that if you have strong arms you don't even need an electric mixer for this. I did not use one. But using one could save some effort. So you are good to go either way.

Cocoa powder: 1 tbsp
Salt: 1/2 tsp
Baking powder: 1 tsp
Milk: 1/2 cup

For Frosting:

Butter: 3 tbsp
Powdered sugar: 1 cup
Milk : 1 tbsp
Vanilla extract: 1 tsp

STEPS:
  1. Pre-heat oven at 350 F.
  2. In a bowl, take butter at room temperature (this is very important) and sugar. Mix till it gets light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and mix again.
  4. Now add vanilla and red food colour. Mix well.
  5. Sift the flour, cocoa powder, salt and baking powder into the batter and mix.
  6. Add milk and mix till everything is well incorporated into a smooth batter,
  7. Pour the batter into the cupcake pan. Fill 3/4 of the cups so that the cakes have proper space to rise.
  8. Bake at 350 F for 25 to 30 minutes or till a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Butter-cream Frosting:
  1. Take butter at room temperature and add powdered sugar to it. Mix well.
  2.  Add milk and vanilla. Mix till it gets fluffy and creamy.
NOTE: Let the cupcakes cool completely before applying the frosting otherwise the frosting will melt.

Now it is time to be creative and pipe the frosting in your desired pattern on the cupcakes and make them look pretty.

    1. Thank you so much. This means a lot as I know how good a baker you are. I keep hearing about your "Too much chocolate cake", "frozen lemonade pie" and delicious cookies all the time.
