Gobbling up GM Diet (Day 3 of 7)

Wow, we are almost half way through, 3 down and 4 more to go. This diet is not only helping me detox and lose some weight but also pushing me to innovate recipes (oil free) and develop some amazing flavors.

If you missed the previous posts, please click on these links : DAY 1 , DAY 2

DAY 3

FRUITS and VEGETABLES (except potatoes and bananas) and 8 to 10 glasses of WATER

This day is basically a combination of day 1 and 2. Once again there is no limit to the quantities you can consume. But you are not allowed to have the single potato you were allowed the previous day. This is because the body receives the required carbs from the fruits. And also bananas remain banned.

Let me now take you through our Day 3 meals.

BREAKFAST (8:30 am)

Apple; 1/2
Cantaloupe: 1 cup
Watermelon: 1 cup

SNACK (11:00 am)

Orange: 1
Grapes: 10 to 12

LUNCH (1:00 pm)

Special Veggie Soup (zero oil)

Onion: 1/4 cup
Garlic: 4 cloves
Cabbage: 2 cups
Bell pepper: 1
Tomato: 1
Carrot: 2
Celery: 2 sticks

This soup was made with zero oil. I just chopped everything, added some homemade Cajun seasoning and threw them into my slow cooker with adequate water for a couple of hours.

EVENING SNACK (4:30 pm)

Fruits Plate

Apple: 1/2
Pear: 1/2
Blackberry: 6 to 8

DINNER (8:30 pm)

Grilled Veggies and Carrot dip (zero oil)

Brussels sprout: 3 to 4
Asparagus: 5 to 6
Bell pepper: 1/2
Onion: 1/2
Carrot: 2

I marinated all the veggies (expect carrots) with some salt, pepper, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, lime juice and tandoori masala powder and baked then in the oven for about 15 to 20 minutes.

For the carrot dip. I boiled the carrot and blended it with some garlic, dried basil, dried oregano, vinegar, salt and pepper. I was myself surprised with this impromptu awesome tasting dip.

HOW DID WE FEEL ABOUT DAY THREE

Although I missed the potato from the previous day, the balance of fruits and veggies prevented it from getting super boring. We did not feel any considerable weakness, rather felt really good about our endeavor at the end of the day. Everything was falling into place till now, that made us happy.

Day 4 is going to be totally different and seems challenging too. To find out all about it don't forget to visit the blog tomorrow.
