The Hues of Spring @ Tulip Time Festival

"When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze."

That's a perfect and timeless picture of nature painted in words by William Wordsworth, and nothing else could better describe what I saw and felt on last Sunday. The only thing different about it was, the daffodils got replaced by the tulips.

Well, there were a few other differnces too like, I wasn't as lonely as the poet and it wasn't the English countryside. I was with my husband and many others who had made it to the Tulip Time Festival in Tokepa on that afternoon. But that did not stop me from enjoying the beauty of nature. Because there was the lake, the trees, the breeze and the dancing flowers, that too in so many colors. Here's all about the day's fun.

# Just look at these beauties!

# And you know what, they make you feel beautiful too.

# I think nature is the greatest perfectionist. Perfect setting by the lake, the green melting the blue.

# Performances throughout the day kept us entertained.

# Some vintage cars flaunted glory of old times.

# No festival is complete without indulging in food, and what could be more fun than exploring the flavors of some great local food trucks. It is hard to convince me to choose anything else when there are bar-b-que ribs available. So ribs it was from JLG BBQ and some Native-Indian fry bread from Cheryl's Indian Tacos as dessert.

# When you can enjoy love of nature with your love of life, it seems "nothing else matters".

# This year spring was a bit early and the tulip bloom too. Therefore some flowers had already withered, but we couldn't take our eyes off from what was left.

# Then it was time to head towards home, but we wanted to check out the Kansas State Capitol Building before leaving Topeka.

It was a nice day spent and a walk to remember amongst the tulips.
