Nothing can ever beat fried food when it comes to crunch, taste and calories. And on a chilly evening you should sometimes choose to ignore the calories part of it. It is indeed indulgence, or for the lack of a better phrase, guilty pleasures. But it is a perfect snack to enjoy while watching a game or a movie on a weekend. Read through the recipe for knowing what you should do to serve your guests hot fish fries while not getting too busy in the kitchen.

Crispy Fried Fish

INGREDIENTS:

Fish fillets: 1 lb (Any white flesh fish)
Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
Ginger-garlic paste: 2 tsp
Red chilli powder: 1 tsp
All purpose flour: 1 cup
Eggs: 2
Bread crumbs: 2 cups
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying

PROCEDURE:

Cut the fish fillets into about 3 inch long pieces. Marinate them with turmeric powder, ginger-garlic paste, red chilli powder and salt for 10 to 15 minutes.

Now comes the three step coating.

Firstly, coat the fillets lightly in all purpose flour.

Then dip it in egg wash. To prepare the egg wash, whisk the eggs with some cold water (about 1 tbsp).

Finally, coat them with bread crumbs.

Heat oil in a pan and fry them till nicely brown.

If you want to serve them a few hours later as a starter for your party you should fry them till half done and keep it aside. You need to just re-fry them till fully done just before serving and it would take you less than a minute.
